Time Series Data Explorer Redesign
Our soon to be public time series data explorer got a bit of a redesign this week. See it here: https://dri-ui.dri.ceh.ac.uk/fdri/timeseries
The design is roughly based on our landing page and we added a few more features:
- Log scaling improved in the explore chart to avoid large empty spaces appearing in the plots.
- Zoom features in plots improved for a smoother user experience.
- More empty state content
- subtle animations across the board
- csv download on plots
- footer and scrolling of charts rework
- horizontal view fixed
- shows raw/processed in the variable list
- share pop over
- combobox search for network/variable reworked
Learn About and Data Story pages
We have added Learn About and Data Story pages based on the work done by David Green. They are working, but only have placeholder content at the moment whilst the real content is written. The Learn About pages provide context and guidance on how to use the tool (eg Timeseries and Spatial Explorers) whilst the Data Story pages show how they are used in real scenarios showing off their features by populating the tool itself or images of it during use. The links to these pages should be ready in time for the next edition of weeknotes so you can try them out.

Flux
Flux data is now being ingested into our production account.
Monitoring / Logging
The data API and timeseries processor now use our centralised JSON logging structure allowing use to view the logs within our logging stack.
Ingestion
EA download status JSON now implemented, simlar to SEPA.
Spatial API and UI
Support for query parameters has been added to the spatial explorer which enables users to bookmark the page and return to it with the same layers pre-loaded.
The ability to support displaying WMS layers from the EIDC catalogue and other sources is almost complete.
The ability to choose different icons for point based layers has been added.
Work has started restyling the UI to use the FDRI colour scheme.
