atmospheric_pressure_factor#

hydrometlib.cosmos.atmospheric_pressure_factor(pa, barometric_attenuation_length)[source]#

Calculate atmospheric pressure correction factor to neutron counts [unitless]

\[f_p = \exp\!\left( \frac{p_a - 1000}{L} \right)\]

where \(L\) is the barometric attenuation length and 1000 hPa the reference pressure.

References

Parameters:
  • pa (Expr) – Atmospheric pressure [hPa]

  • barometric_attenuation_length (Expr) – Site attribute - barometric attenuation length, L [hPa]. Must be in the same units as pa, since the exponent is (pa - 1000) / L.

Return type:

Expr

Returns:

Expression or Series for atmospheric pressure factor [unitless]
