hydrometlib.cosmos.effective_depth(cosmos_vwc, ref_soc, ref_bulkdensity, ref_latticewater)[source]#

Original effective depth calculation from SIMPLE VWC method [cm]

\[d = \frac{5.8}{\rho_b \, (\theta_{lw} + \theta_{soc}) + \dfrac{\theta_v}{100} + 0.0829}\]

where \(\rho_b\) is ref_bulkdensity, \(\theta_{lw}\) is ref_latticewater, \(\theta_{soc}\) is ref_soc and \(\theta_v\) is the VWC in percent.
