mean_soil_heat_flux#

hydrometlib.meteorology.mean_soil_heat_flux(g1, g2)[source]#

Calculate the mean soil heat flux (g) from two soil heat flux measurements [W m-2]

Soil heat flux defines the amount of thermal energy transferred through the soil, in a vertical direction, per unit of time.

\[G = \frac{G_1 + G_2}{2}\]
Parameters:
  • g1 (Expr) – Soil heat flux measurement 1 [W m-2]

  • g2 (Expr) – Soil heat flux measurement 2 [W m-2]

Return type:

Expr

Returns:

Expression or Series computing g [W m-2]
